BULL FIGHT : PART 1

 Bull fight at Barrack 13,
Bull : Badal ( a healthy bull, colour: Brown )
 Matador : Havildar Brahma
 Location: Training campus.
Time 2230 hrs
It was a moonless night. Load shedding was at its peak. The generator was roaring. We just had dinner and discussing various topics ranging from films , our controlling officers and of course the training that we were going through. Suddenly there was fierce knocking at the door. At night the power generators are usually very loud. The knocking became even louder till it surpassed the sound of generator. No one was willing to answer the door as every one was well settled in their beds. The barrack duty was fast asleep. Soon the person nearest to the door, unable to bear the loud bangs had to open the door. The sentry duty was standing at the door. He said Havildar Brahma is lying in a pool of blood and Badal is playing with his body by tossing it in the air. Havildar Brahma was actually a training instructor. He imparted drill discipline training to the trainees. He was an alcoholic. During day time he was a normal person. But as sun sets and night approaches he also changes from normal to a mad person. He regularly consumes huge amounts of chulai ( country liquor). He regularly had confrontations with his colleagues and cadets. After dinner he usually hits the straying animals with a bamboo mostly cows which enters the training campus in search of juicy grass. I reffered to him as a matador as he regularly fought with animals mostly cows. Badal is a straying bull , very dangerous , huge and mascular. It was a menace to the locality. As learnt Badal was from Lankeswar temple. One IGP released Badal at Lankeswar when it was a mere calf. Now Badal has grown up to a huge bull. Now as the sentry informed us we immediately went to the location where Brahma was lying. We were horrified to see Brahma. There was no sight of Badal though. His neck was ripped open. His chest muscles were hanging. His calf muscles were hanging. His food pipe, veins were open and blood was oozing out from them. Brahma was such a nuisance that no one was coming near to help him. Time was running out for him. Looking at his condition four cadets voluntered to take him to hospital. They were indeed very brave. They were Manabendra, Sasanka , Rabijit and Jitul. The unit ambulance arrived at the scene. Brahma was taken to the nearest hospital. We all lost hope. Now a great task lie before the four cadets. Decision is to be taken immediately.. to which hospital he should be taken. As per instruction of training authority he was to be taken to GMCH ( Govt. Hospital). But GMCH at that time was an under equipped hospital. If he is taken to GMCH he will surely die. Better equipped Private Nursing homes were there but they were around 5-7 kms far from GMCH. Ultimately they decided to take him to Down Town Hospital. This decision proved as a boon for Brahma. Upon arrival at Down Town Hospital he was immediately attended by Doctors. He was operated upon for many hours. The next morning the cadets arrived at the Training School and gave us the good news that Brahma is alive and out of Danger. It was a miracle that Brahma survived that gruesome attack. The decision to take him to D.T Hospital saved his life.. If you enjoyed reading this post.... please consider leaving a comment.. Thanks
